Hi My favorites!
Let’s talk about it!
A few years ago during my quiet time, I was sitting and meditating on some things that I had previously read. In a quiet still voice, I heard the word “homeostasis”. Of course this sent me on a quest to search and study what relevance this word had to me.
Have you ever been in a season of your life where EVERYTHING was happening and it all seemed beyond your control?
In those seasons of life, there can be so much going on, so many things to do, not to mention the unexpected things that show up to throw us off course. Even the most poised, planned & organized person would be overwhelmed. Life doesn’t care about our strengths or weaknesses, because when “Life happens” it hits hard!
I can remember being in one of those seasons, where everything was spinning out of my control. I didn’t know what to do or how to tackle what looked like a disaster to me. As I searched out to really study and understand the word “homeostasis”, I learned that even if I wasn’t in control of what was going on around me, I could control what was going on in me!
REPEAT! “I could control what was going on in me!”
Often times we do the opposite of that statement. We allow the external things that are going on around us to affect our internal state, our emotions, our focus, how we function, and quite naturally it does! However, if we make it a practice to live this way, we will forever live allowing external factors to dictate how we live, how we feel, and what we can accomplish.
Homeostasis refers to any process that living things use to actively maintain survival. (Walter Cannon developed this term). My interpretation of how this word was applied to me was this: “You are your environment! You have the power to change what’s happening AROUND you by changing what’s happening IN you. You can only bring balance when you are in balance spiritually, physically, emotionally, and psychologically. You can change the climate of your Life and Business which will open the door to YOUR most ultimate success!
So, How can you do this in your everyday life?
#1 – Determine how to develop a homeostatic state in your life. Identify or learn what keeps you balanced, focused & productive. This will enable you to master your environment to make it conducive to your progression.
#2 – Eliminate everything out of your life that causes it to be out of balance! Do a self-assessment to make sure that the imbalance is not within you.
#3 – Now Build! Everything that is in your heart to build and develop in this season of life, began to do that regardless of what’s going on around you!
I hope you have enjoyed this post, and remember, You are Your Environment!
Sincerely,
Sherron
