Did you begin the New Year Behind?

Did you take advantage of December 2025 to plan your reset strategy for 2026? If not, let’s get you up to speed because, as you can already see, we’ve already entered into a year of the unexpected, with so many things happening on the world stage, and on the cusp of many more events to come. However, in spite of it all, we do have an individual responsibility to govern and steward well those things that we do have personal authority over, such as our personal and professional lives and what we choose to do with them. In the midst of what’s happening around us, it will indeed require a level of effort on our parts to not just allow things to fall where they may. Planning, Preparing, Consistency, and Discipline are going to be key factors to help you move forward in this year. In spite of what’s happening around you, these are the factors that are going to keep you viligent and focused in the times ahead. It’s easy to lose focus when things are shaking up around you without going into instant survival mode. As you go forward into the new year, I want to give you some useful strategies on how to gain a footing in your personal and work life, so that you do not succumb to the fear of the uncertainty around you.

01 Decide what makes sense and make a decision. Oftentimes when a person has experiences that interrupt their norm or comfortability they are very eager to get back to exactly where they were quickly. As a result, this can cause you more stress and aggravation. If this is you, be ok with Pivoting. Every season won’t always look the same in your life and/or work, but don’t look at having to wait, slow down, or do something different as a waste of time. Also, be ok with taking what you know and doing something different with it. When you encounter a major disruption, use the knowledge and expertise that you have in a different way and make the decision to pivot when necessary. Don’t hold on to what could possibly cause you unnecessary stress and aggravation; there is truly something better for you on the other side.

02 Pivot with confidence. Pivoting is not always an easy decision, but be confident in the fact that you are doing so with leverage. Pivoting doesn’t always require you to forsake your prior knowledge and experience, but to use it differently with a change of direction for your next season. This time, use it in a way that will be more beneficial to you and your loved ones in the long run. It’s hard for many people to have hope in a future that is unknown; your future is predicated on you building from your prior experience and using it to help yourself and others. This is why it’s necessary to pivot with purpose and strategy. What have you learned in your prior seasons that can help you become better in this current one? Take this experience and pivot with confidence.

03 Reset with clarity. Many of you have been running on empty for the past couple of years, so look at 2026 as a new opportunity to reset and live your life on purpose in every area. It is very easy to get comfortable with living on autopilot, but it’s more for you in life than that. Whether you have reached every goal or the peak of success you were aspiring to reach, there is still more purpose in you waiting to be exercised. So even if you feel like you started this year behind, and you missed out on my prepartory December planning session, take full advantage of the remainder of the weeks in January to bring the important things into alignment for the rest of your year.

My December Planning Session will help you move forward in doing so. Here is the link: December Planning Session – Pivot & Reset
