Hi Friends!
We are in a time and a season where many can very well get weary! Many are having to make major life adjustments, some are being tested in major ways, and many have even been challenged on levels in life and business that they didn’t anticipate coming. When you encounter major life challenges, bumps and pot holes in the road, they may slow you down and require you to pull over, but they don’t have to stop you from moving forward. Take some time to recalibrate and continue to move forward! Even if the pace is a little slower than what you were going for, keep going until you regain full momentum! You must learn in every season to “Carry the Momentum”!
Obstacles don’t last forever, challenges can be overcame, and a new direction taken can very well be a new opportunity. Detours don’t always have to be viewed negatively, and the right ones will allow you to arrive at your destination sometimes sooner than the normal route. I know there are many things that are being presented to slow us down or maybe even weigh us down, but today I want to briefly share with you a few things I do to shed the weight of it all when at times I experience ALL THE ABOVE!
Let’s Talk About it!
1.) I have learned not to carry what I can’t control. I do not hide the fact that I am a woman of faith, so I believe that I have the opportunity to lay my burdens down in prayer, and rise up in faith knowing that my Heavenly Father has my very best interest at heart. What does the practical part of this look like for me? Continuing to work towards what I can control, even when things are going on around me that I can’t control. I’ve learned the hard way not to take matters into my own hands and force things and situations to work for me. Doing this will only lead to stress and a lack of peace in mind, body and spirit. As women our body’s will feel the effects of stress at a more intense level than men. Our symptoms of stress have historically manifested outwardly and clinically faster than our counterparts. I learned early on that the price of stress was TOO HIGH and a price I was unwilling to pay. Learning to let go of what I can’t control quickly has been a jewel for me.
When I first started my business, I had many concerns, because I locked focus on my current situation. The only thing that I could focus on was this statement, “Well I can’t do this, because I don’t have this?” After I had worn myself down with this train of thought, I one day realized that I had an unclear vision and focused so much on what I didn’t have because I really didn’t know exactly what I needed or how to fulfill my vision. Which led me to what’s next………
2.) A plan and a blueprint. I had to one day sit down and write out the vision that I wanted to come into fruition. I wrote down exactly what was in my heart and mind to accomplish for my life, my family, and my business! Not someone else’s vision, not what I saw on social media, not what I had been told by someone else or a family member but the vision that I know God placed in MY heart and mind. I didn’t have the full details of what this was, but when I developed a plan and blueprint on how to move forward, things became more and more clear. Developing a plan is casting a vision. Developing a blueprint gives you the strategy and clear directives on how to accomplish that vision. I don’t care how many bumps, potholes, or detours you experience, these two things will empower you to CARRY THE MOMENTUM!
3.) Dismantle every idea, every thought, and every opinion someone else has placed on you! Often times we are weighted down by carrying someone else’s vision for our lives. When you develop a plan and blueprint for where you are going and what you want to accomplish you will never have to be deterred by false narratives and directives from someone else. I sought direction from many that I held in high esteem on how to build my business, how to move forward, etc., only to be disappointed when I discovered they would rather me build THEIR vision as opposed to providing me with any insight on how to build mine. I learned from these experiences to go deep and give the time to myself that I had often sacrificed and given to others. Only when I did this was I able to see what I truly possessed. I discovered the power above to fuel the power from within!
The decision to stay the course is yours to make!
