Will you be Prepared for the Shift?

Many times in life, we can turn our heads or close our eyes to certain things with hopes they will ultimately pass without having a specific effect or impact on our lives. In other words, we are HOPEFUL that whatever the issue is, it will just disappear! This is hardly ever the case. As believers, we have the FAITH to believe everything will settle in our favor. Hebrews 11:1 (AMP) describes it as this, “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].” However, for believers, there is also another part of balancing out this equation, as we can see here in James 2:17 (AMP), “So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].”

Whether you are a Believer in Jesus Christ or not, the truth is that by just being HOPEFUL, things will not change without practical application. Why am I writing this discussion piece today? Many today have been rocked into slumber due to the volatile changes we have been facing in the world around us. Instead of rising to take the authority to implement the necessary changes they need in their lives and businesses, some have chosen to compromise or “keep keeping on” for the sake of convenience. It has been one roller coaster after another in our country as we have been navigating the aftermath of the public health situation that took everyone by storm. With each turn, there is a sense of hope that a person, a situation, or a resolution will arise and create the change we hope to see. What if the solution many are seeking never comes? What if you are the solution?

Many are frustrated, trying to figure out how to get a grip, and are in need of direction on what to do next. When you are truly called to the service of people, you gain a new perspective and learn to understand how people process and use both new and old information. As a consultant, I serve to listen and help people work through situations to obtain their desired outcomes. This is not always an easy task, but it’s something I love doing, and I’ve learned to be very selective with clientele because results depend on how willing a client is to commit to the necessary changes they must make to reach their goals. In my line of work, I’ve learned that people do not like disruptions to systems and habits they’ve relied on for years, even when dysfunctional.

What am I saying? There is an urgency to prepare and position yourself for the shift that is already happening, not fearfully or frantically but with wisdom and prudence. Who do you need to partner with in this season of life to help you get to the place where you need to be? How much accountability do you need to get there? Are you willing to comply with the necessary patience, dedication, work, effort, and consistency to get there? Will you be prepared for the coming shift as we approach the end of this year?

Let’s discuss two principles that will work in your favor as you begin to prepare for the SHIFT. If you have been on my email list for some time, this will not be the first time you’ve heard these.

Principle #1. PLANNING. Don’t limit planning to just a pen and a calendar with dates and times. Planning is not a short-sighted principle; it’s similar to having faith, much like I discussed earlier. It’s a principle that allows you to view your life at a glance and hyper-focus on the super-important things you NEED to do first, and it inspires and gives you something to look forward to accomplishing. Planning provides you with a system of structure for your life and a blueprint of how to govern yourself to follow through. If you are not a planning person, you will not be prepared, which often results in things always catching you off guard and leading you to live a reactive life with cycles of high frustration, lack of peace, and lack of rest. You must PLAN to ensure the next disruption in our world doesn’t catch you off guard and unprepared.

Principle #2. PREPARATION. Preparation requires action. Similar to putting faith to work, like we discussed earlier. Preparation allows you to fireproof your plan to ensure you succeed at accomplishing it.
