Hi Friends!
So happy to chat with you today. I learned something very valuable this past weekend and I wanted to share it with you. After hearing and seeing all that I experienced, I understood the importance of the journey of Life. I realized how important it is to treat every second and moment as valuable as they are. I can remember when my children were really small, I had two in pampers at the same time. Yes, two! And now that they are old enough to do the math, I constantly hear jokes about how close they are in age in comparison to our oldest (LOL!) Now Back to the story – I can remember thinking, “these pampers are expensive, I will be glad when we get to potty training”. Well then the pull-ups came along and they were expensive too. Then I thought, “at least I can look forward to buying underpants”! Well, one day I can remember being silenced by the thought, “enjoy every moment to avoid regret”. See we can be so in a rush to get to the NEXT and the NEXT until treasurable moments pass and we have regrets for not enjoying them or doing something different in them. I thank God every day for that lesson because I am mindful of the value of moments. This has saved me from the regrets that I often hear others talk about. Even if valuable moments have passed in your life, there is always enough room and grace for you to do something different now!
Life can sometimes be looked at as chapters and we have to remember not to be so in a rush to get to the next chapter thereby forfeiting the enjoyment and experience of the one you are currently in. Process leads to purpose. Purpose leads to fulfillment. Fulfillment leads to Life Success!
Many often define success as material possession, and while that may serve as one evident aspect, I believe true success derives from this principle found in 3 John 1:2 that says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosper”. This helps us to understand that success is well-rounded, well-balanced, and doesn’t require compromise. More importantly, it enlightens us that true success can be defined by the substance of those who carry it.
Success without life substance is not True success. Substance is gained and developed through the process of time and experience. In the experiences, maturity, appreciation, and most importantly wisdom is acquired. Life Relationships are strengthened, love is matured, individual growth takes place and healthy self-care practices are forged through the development of a substantial life.
The process of Life can be a hard thing, especially when you don’t know, see or understand the entire scope of when and how things are going to take place. There are times in the process when we don’t know exactly what to do or how to navigate things that should be “simple” when in actuality they are quite complex. We may encounter mountains that seem impossible to move, detours that we never anticipated, and unforeseen circumstances that can change the trajectory of our lives in an instant. Even so, if I may be a source of encouragement to you today, in the midst of living in the uncertainty of the unknown and all the details of the Process, I want to tell you that in spite of what you DO NOT KNOW and CANNOT anticipate, the Process is still doable. No matter what comes your way, you can really enjoy and maximize the journey of Life once you understand how to navigate it well. You will be better prepared, equipped, and have the balance needed to travel the journey.
